Duration: 2 - 3 weeks ( with the potential of longer term )
Rate of Pay: £6.00 + per hour.
Hours: 30 - 40 hours flexible per week

Painter / Decorator required to work in a family run studio in Cardiff.
The main elements of the job will involve assisting in the production of our standard products
(particularly coating the products with protective and decorative paint – hence the need for experience in painting),
keeping the studio and warehouse clean and tidy, and packing and preparing orders for delivery.
Some weekend and evening work will be required.

This position has arisen as a result of a contract won, and therefore the ability to start immediately is essential.

Job Specification:
Although the position is essentially concentrating on the production of a standard product, other tasks will need to be undertaken to ensure the continued smooth running of the studio whilst we meet the demands of new and existing business. The following is simply an outline of the type of duties to be carried out and is not an exhaustive list.

Duties will include:

• Coating polystyrene products with protective and decorative water based paint
• Ensuring that the studio, warehouse and tools are clean, tidy and in good order
• Unloading goods and manoeuvring stock
• Assisting in the production of products
• Packing orders for delivery
• Occasionally answering the telephone and taking messages when required

Person Specification
The following traits are considered essential for this position:

• Experience in painting and decorating (ideally in a commercial environment)
• Practical and dexterous
• Neat, tidy and organised
• Able to use hand tools
• Able to follow instructions and adopt new techniques
• Flexible approach and attitude towards work - some weekend and evening work will be required.
• Able to prioritise workload
• Helpful and polite
• Non-smoker
