The letters were formed from expanded polystyrene to keep them lightweight, then faced front and back with 3 mm MDF to give sharper edges, improved strength and a more refined finish.

To provide additional stability on site, the letters were supplied with clear acrylic bases. These offered the support needed for free-standing use without distracting from the overall design. The letters were also coated with Idenden, adding extra surface durability and improving flame retardance to help meet exhibition fire regulations.
