Creative and practical work at our Cardiff studios
Graham Sweet Studios manufactures display props, large 3D letters, sculptures and bespoke products for retailers, events, film, television and creative agencies.
We recruit casual Studio/Workshop Assistants for busy production periods and welcome applications from experienced creative freelancers throughout the year.
Our studios are at the Excelsior Industrial Estate in Cardiff. The working environment is creative, practical and varied, with on-site parking and a casual dress code.
Studio / Workshop Assistants – Christmas 2026
Casual work from September to December
We are recruiting practical, reliable Studio/Workshop Assistants to help during our busy Christmas production period from September to December 2026.
This is casual work with variable hours. The hours available each week will depend on our production schedule, the type of projects underway and your availability. As our workload changes throughout the season, we may take on additional assistants at different points between September and December.
Typical work may include:
- Assisting with production, painting and finishing
- Packing and preparing customer orders
- Keeping the studio and warehouse organised
- Moving materials and helping with general workshop tasks
- Occasional basic administrative work
An Art, Product Design or other practical qualification can be useful, but isn't essential. We're equally interested in people with basic practical skills, a good attitude and a willingness to learn.
Basic painting and decorating skills are very transferable to much of the work we do and would be helpful. Experience using hand tools, or in areas such as carpentry, sculpture, model-making or other workshop work, would also be an advantage, but we're not looking for expertise in all of these areas.
Above all, we're looking for people who are reliable, can follow instructions and are happy to get stuck in with the work that needs doing.
