Alongside our polystyrene and wooden letters, we manufacture freestanding 3D cardboard, card and papier-mâché letters and numbers at our UK studios.
These lightweight display pieces are suitable for shop windows, retail promotions, stage backdrops, photo shoots and events. Each project is made to order in the wording, size and finish required.

Standard or Custom Font and Size
Cardboard letters can be produced in our standard Arial Bold or Impact Condensed fonts, in sizes up to 1800 mm high and with enough depth to stand independently.
We can also manufacture supplied fonts, logos and bespoke shapes. The faces and backs are normally made from rigid board, with corrugated card or thinner card used around the edges according to the shape and finish required.

The hollow construction keeps large cardboard letters relatively lightweight and easier to position than many solid display pieces.
When the display is no longer required, plain cardboard letters can be flattened to a fraction of their assembled volume. Suitability for reuse or disposal depends on the finish, fixings and how the letters have been handled.
Finish Options
Letters can be supplied in plain card or cardboard, ready for your own decoration, or covered with papier-mâché for a textured patchwork appearance and additional strength.
Other options include painted colours, glitter, Finerock™ and specialist decorative finishes. We can recommend a suitable option based on the appearance, handling, timescale, budget and intended life of the display.

Every set is different, so we quote each job individually. These guide prices are based on simple Impact-style letters and are intended to give you a rough starting point.

Printed Faces
Full-colour printed faces can be produced from your supplied artwork, photographs or branding. This works particularly well for retail displays, promotional campaigns and event lettering.
Send us the artwork and intended letter size at the enquiry stage so we can check resolution, proportions and the most suitable board construction.
Bases and Fixings
Many 3D cardboard letters are freestanding. Depending on their size and intended use, cardboard or MDF bases can be fitted to improve stability in event, graduation and public-facing spaces.
MDF or plywood can also be incorporated into the bottom of a letter where it needs to be screwed to a plinth. Hanging points and fixing bars can be built into the hollow construction when required.
